Responsible packaging and store displays

We have made many conscious choices regarding our packaging right from the materials used, to the size, and how we through the design of our packaging, encourage customers to properly waste sort for recycling.

Paper and cardboard

We strive for all paper and cardboard to be FSC-approved. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide. FSC sets certain high standards to make sure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner. The FSC mark is your guarantee that no more wood is felled than the forest itself can reproduce. Likewise, FSC ensures good conditions for the workers and the animals of the forest.

Most of the paper and cardboard we use for our packaging is FSC-approved. However, the lack of materials on the market globally also affects us, but when we have access to FSC-approved material, we always choose this.

Plastic

The current legislation requires our pacifiers to be wrapped in plastic, due to durability and safety.

Our hard plastic packaging (e.g., our pacifier 2-packs) is made of 30% recycled material. In the future, we wish to use 100% recycled plastic in our packaging.

The packaging made of soft plastic is currently 100% virgin plastic. Our suppliers work hard to find a solution where the material can be recycled plastic while still complying with the legislation regarding food-approved plastic.

For our textile products, we are using a poly-plastic bag that is made of 100% recycled plastic.

Wood

Our in-store displays made in wood are all FSC-approved wood.

Minimizing packaging

We are on a continuous journey to minimize the packaging of our products. This is not only a cost-effective solution, but it also reduces the use of materials which ensures less waste.

In 2022 we redesigned the packaging for most of our textiles. For our Baby Swaddle and Muslin Cloth we removed the cardboard belt and added a much smaller hangtag. For our Bandana Bib, we have likewise removed the much bigger cardboard sheet for the smaller hangtag. For our Pacifier Box, we redesigned the box, so that we both minimized the amount of cardboard, but we also removed the plastic completely. And last but not least, for our Pacifier Clips, we have changed the cardboard thickness to a much thinner version.

This means that we have minimized the packaging for our Baby Swaddles by 33 %, 20% for our Muslin Cloths, 42 % for our Pacifier Clip, 69 % for our Pacifier Box, and a whopping 90% for our Bandana Bib.
